About Electric Rovers

I’m Fred. I grew up in the city and I still build my days here as a graphic designer at a mid-sized company. On weekdays I ride an electric scooter to the office because it beats traffic and keeps my routine simple. When the weekend starts, I swap in an electric bike, fill a thermos with hot coffee, and ride out before sunrise toward quiet paths in the suburbs and the first climbs in the mountains.

Why I launched Electric Rovers

Five years ago I tried my first electric ride and everything shifted. The city felt closer. Hills felt smaller. I care about cleaner air and safer streets, and I want choices that help future generations. I do not own an electric car yet. City life and a practical budget make e-bikes and e-scooters the right fit for me today. This site is where I share what I learn so your rides feel easier, safer, and more fun.

What you will find

  • Guides that turn specs into clear choices for real riders
  • Notes from weekday scooter commutes and long weekend e-bike sessions
  • Safety checklists shaped by city traffic and local rules
  • Simple maintenance routines for batteries, motors, and brakes
  • Comparisons that focus on comfort, range, braking, and everyday usability

How I test and review

I use repeatable routes and consistent checks so results stay useful.

  • City loop: Morning and evening laps to measure acceleration, braking, lights, and handling
  • Range sessions: Set assist levels on mixed terrain with notes on wind, grade, and temperature
  • Comfort pass: Tire pressure, posture, cockpit setup, and vibration on broken pavement
  • Everyday use: Folding, carrying upstairs, apartment storage, charging habits, apps, and lock up

Values that guide the work

  • Honesty: Real pros and cons with clear tradeoffs
  • Safety: Helmets, lights, visibility, and predictable riding
  • Respect: Share paths and streets with care for others
  • Clarity: Practical advice you can apply on your next ride

Join the ride

Electric Rovers exists to help you pick a ride that fits your life and to help you enjoy it for years. If you are new, start with the beginner and safety sections. If you already ride, explore maintenance and setup tips. When you are ready to narrow choices, the comparisons and reviews will point you to what matters.

Thanks for being here. I will keep testing during weekday commutes and early weekend miles, and I will keep sharing what works so each ride feels smoother than the last.
